About Our Music
We have performed in many locations and for many
organizations. We were featured performers at a New Jersey Miss America
Weekend; at a Flag Day ceremony on Capitol Hill; and for the West Virginia
State Convocation of Methodist Men.
For 13 years we performed for the annual Pearl Harbor
Day Memorial Services conducted at the U.S. Navy Chapel in Washington DC and
received commendation from the National Fleet Reserve Association for this
concert series. For the 60th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, we performed a joint
concert with the Rockville Singers at Rockville High School with
benefits going to Community Ministries of Rockville. The chorus has also been
pleased and proud to share musical programs with elementary and high school
choirs and entertained in local senior residences and assisted living
facilities.
The chorus celebrated the Bicentennial with its
performance of Randall Thompson's Testament of Freedom with the
Montgomery Symphony and the Sea Chanters of the U.S. Navy Band. An appearance
with the Montgomery Youth Orchestra included the Brahms Alto
Rhapsody.
Programs most often requested include highlights from
popular Broadway musicals, Academy Award winning songs, great music from the
World War II big band era, and songs of faith.
We love to perform music of Irving Berlin, Rogers
& Hammerstein, Jerome Kern, George M. Cohan, Sigmund Romberg, Lerner &
Lowe and other well known composers.
