About Us

The Rockville Men's Chorus was formed in 1970 by Jim and LaRue Sadler with men from three Rockville Church choirs. Over the years, membership in this nonprofit, independent group has consisted of men of various ages, occupations and professions. We are bound together by our love of music and desire to promote male choral singing. We are pleased to be of service to the community and, if scheduling permits, are willing to help in money-raising functions for worthy causes.

Our Director

Our director is James L. Angel. Jim began his service as Director of the Rockville Men's Chorus in September of 2004. With almost thirty years of directing choral music, Jim is a highly experienced and professional musician, and the Rockville Men's Chorus considers itself very fortunate to have him as director.

Where and What We Sing

Since our inception, the Rockville Men's Chorus has performed in many locations for various occasions and for the benefit of many groups and organizations. These performances include frequent concerts at local residences for the elderly and handicapped; shared programs with elementary and high school choirs and glee clubs; commemorations of significant historical events such as the Bicentennial and the attack on Pearl Harbor. The chorus has also joined in combined concerts with elementary and high school choirs and glee clubs to encourage their continued enjoyment of choral singing. We have also sung with both the Montgomery Symphony and the Montgomery Youth Orchestra.

Our concerts often include highlights from Broadway musicals, Academy Award winning song, hits from the Big Band era, and well-remembered songs from World War II.
