Our Director, James L.
Angel |
Jim began his service as Director of the Rockville
Men's Chorus in September of 2004. With almost thirty years of directing choral
music, Jim is a highly experienced and professional musician, and the Rockville
Men's Chorus considers itself very fortunate to have him as director.
He received his B.A. in Music from Bowling Green
State University and a Master of Sacred Music from Boston University School of
Theology. In addition, he earned a Master of Music in Composition from the
State University of New York at Potsdam.
He has directed choirs of all sizes and styles
including jazz, swing, church, college, show, and Sweet Adelines. He has headed
music programs in a number of different churches and is currently the Director
of Music at Faith United
Methodist Church in Rockville, Maryland. To reach him, you may leave a

In addition, he has served as the head of church
music programs at two different colleges: John Wesley College in High Point,
NC, and Alderson Broaddus (AB) College in Philippi, WV. While at AB, he
directed a touring choir that performed in over five hundred churches
throughout the United States. In 1997 this choir traveled to Thailand and India
where they sang for over three quarters of a million people. His groups have
recorded two albums. |
